Trash Can Taters

Yay! My trash can taters are coming up. Thanks to all those who have discussed this way of growing potatoes.

    ANother excellent way to grow potatoes and sweet potatoes is in a used tire.

    You plant the potato into the tire and allow the plant to grow. Making sure that you water it more and that the soil never dries out. (the tire will keep it warmer)

    As the plant grows larger add more organic material on top and a second tire.

    Continue this procedure for up to five tires.

    At the end of the growing season when the plant has died back just knock over your pile of used tires and you have potatoes that are very easy to harvest. ( not to mention that if you watered it correctly you should have an abundance of earth worms.
